Business Activities:
Since Shaswar was an engineering graduate, after his graduation he first started working as a contractor. Despite of his passion of becoming a doctor, he believes that engineering has helped him to be where he is today. His job as a contractor helped him to make connections and accumulate knowledge about his field. As he became experienced in construction industry. As a result, in 2007 Shaswar first established his company by the name of Nalia Group. Nalia group working in three fields (Real estate, Tourism and Media) with a capital of 1 billion dollars.   
Nalia Group first started as a real estate company, and then expanded and created media channels that are well-recognized in Kurdistan and Iraq. The company first constructed the German Village compound (380 units) in Sulaimani city as the first residence city in the Kurdistan Region. German Village was something new to Kurdistan, as it had a green environment and houses constructed with high standards. After German Villages success, Nalia Group had the ambition of constructing more cities and started building Kurd City I (960 units), followed by Kurd City II compound (624 units). Moreover, after these two cities were built and saw its success, Shaswar started constructing German Village II (424 units) followed by German Village III compound (1202 units). Then Nalia Group continued making the city of Sulaimani more beautiful by building Chavy Land, which is a modern amusement park and it is considered to be the biggest amusement park in Iraq, which has an area of 1,000,000 meters squared. Nalia Group then started building Nali City compound (565 units), and what makes this city unique is that they were finished one year earlier than their expected date. In total Nalia group built (4155 units) houses and apartments till now in Sulaimani city.
Human Rights and Freedom of Expression Activities:

Shaswar Abdulwahid  is the owner and founder of Nalia Media Corporation which is the only independent media cooperation in Kurdistan region. The history of Nalia Radio and Television (NRT) goes back to the days when there were no independent media networks in the Kurdistan Region. In 2010, a group of freelance journalists came up with the idea of taking the lead to fill that void and launched the first ever independent media network, funded by Nalia (Shaswar Abdulwahid) , and is built under the slogan of ‘Courage, Balance and Truth.’ In the first week of its launch, NRT TV was burned down to the ground as a result of promoting free speech, but it was rebuilt and came back even stronger. Two years later on October 26, 2013 there was an assassination attempt to owner of NRT Shaswar Abdulwahid, he survived from the assassination attempt but he is injured in his leg. Since the television channel was a success, two more TV channels were added to the group by the names of NRT2 and NRT Arabic. NRT and NRT Arabic are mainly a news channel, and NRT2 is a family TV channel. Aside from its main office in Sulaimani, Nalia Media Corporation (NMC) also has offices in Erbil, Baghdad, Brussels, Paris, London, Washington, Diyarbakir and more. NMC consists of: (NRT HD , NRT2, NRT Arabic, NRT Digital Media, Nalia FM, Nalia Training center, Pam Media).

Media Activities: (Hangawi Yakam (First Step TV show)):
In 2017, Shaswar started a series on NRT2 called Hangawy Yakam (First Step). The purpose of the show was to find entrepreneurs of the new generation in Kurdistan, and was offering a reward of one million dollars to the winner of the show, so that they can start their business and implement their innovative ideas. The show had participants all over Kurdistan Region and everyone had an equal chance of success. During the show, Shaswar offered many advices about business and taught steps of succession to the participants. In the final episode, one participant was rewarded with one million dollar to start her business.
